Finding the Game of the Scene/Patterning

Anything and everything is possible in group improvisation! You just need a couple of tools to recognise those discoveries when they appear. This workshop will focus on discovering the game of a scene without forcing it, both in two person scenes and in large groups. We'll also play with many simple ways to recognise patterns in long form, group openings and group scenes.

Improv into Sketch

Since its inception, every Second City show has used improv to create a sketch comedy revue. And this workshop will cover many foundational and advanced exercises to do just that. After a quick review of basic sketch comedy writing, we'll explore all the possible techniques to structure, stylise, re-improvise and beat out our improv scenes into a sketch.

Tim Soszko is a leading improv and sketch teacher at second city and io chicago.

HE IS CURRENTLY MEETING WITH DIFFERENT INTERESTED PARTIES ABOUT SELLING HIS SKETCH COMEDY TELEVISION PILOT, THAT HE WROTE AND STARS IN, CALLED, "THE TIM&MICAH PROJECT."

TIM TOURS WITH HIS SKETCH AND IMPROV GROUPS, THE DELTONES, THE TIM&MICAH PROJECT, AND BRIKO, ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA.

TIM HAS BEEN A PRODUCER FOR THE CHICAGO SKETCH COMEDY FESTIVAL FOR 10 YEARS. HE DIRECTS MANY SKETCH AND IMPROV GROUPS, MOST NOTABLY, DEEP SEA SWIMWEAR AND UNINTENTIONALLY HILARIOUS.

AND FINALLY, BEING AN ACCOMPLISHED VOICEOVER ACTOR, YOU'VE PROBABLY HEARD TIM'S VOICE ON MANY TV AND RADIO COMMERCIALS AS WELL AS VIDEO GAMES.
