Acting for Improvisers

“Acting for Improvisers” is an 8-week acting course for improv performers. This course will broaden the knowledge of the participants in all aspects of stage craft for performers – including preparation, voice, movement and proxemics.

This course is aimed at guiding students through the corner stones of performance technique, with a focus on character work, truthful relationship scenes and exploring the psychology of the actor in improvised comedy.

The course will be facilitated by Charles Hindley, a performer and teacher in Men With Coconuts and professional actor and drama instructor. Previous improvisation experience is required for this course.

 

 

Charles is a veteran performer with more than 25 years of theatrical experience. A chorister in Cambridge for four years and a graduate from Ridgeway Studios Drama School, his performance experience has seen him play on some of the worlds great stages, from London's West End, to The Sydney Opera House.

 

Now a drama practitioner, Charles works as a freelance consultant, actor and improviser and is looking forward to offering this bespoke experiential acting course for improvisers.

 

It is a course which covers key areas of development for the students, from voice to movement, character analysis and stagecraft. It is the first of its kind to be offered by Men With Coconuts.
